# DateStamp

> Add the date to your photos in seconds. Reads when each photo was taken, retro film-camera style, many photos at once. Nothing is uploaded.

DateStamp is a free web tool that prints the date on photos. It reads the date each photo was taken from its EXIF data (DateTimeOriginal), falls back to the file's date, and lets the user change any date. Styles: a white date with a thin black outline, a dark label, and the orange retro date of 90s film cameras. It handles many photos at once and saves them to a folder (desktop Chrome/Edge), to the phone's gallery (share sheet), or as separate downloads, with an optional ZIP.

Privacy: everything runs in the browser. Photos are never uploaded; there is no account and no server that sees them. The site is paid for by ads (Google AdSense) and counts visits with Google Analytics 4; both only with the visitor's consent, and neither ever receives a photo, a file name or a date from a photo.

## How to add the date to a photo on iPhone

1. Open this page in Safari on your iPhone.
2. Tap “Choose photos” and pick one or more photos from your library.
3. DateStamp reads the date each photo was taken. Change it under the photo if you need to.
4. Pick a style – the orange retro date looks like a 90s film camera.
5. Tap “Share” and then “Save Image” – the photo with the date lands in your Photos.

## How to add the date to a photo on Android

1. Open this page in Chrome (or any browser) on your phone.
2. Tap “Choose photos” and pick one or more photos from your gallery.
3. DateStamp reads the date each photo was taken. Change it under the thumbnail if you need to.
4. Pick a style, the format and the corner for the date.
5. Tap “Save to gallery” and choose your gallery app – the photos with the date are saved there.

## How to add the date to many photos at once

1. Choose all the photos at once, or drag them onto the page.
2. Wait a moment while they load – the bar shows how many are ready.
3. Check the dates: photos without camera data are marked “file date”; change those under the thumbnail.
4. Pick one style, format and corner – it applies to every photo.
5. Save them all: into a folder on a computer, or to the gallery on a phone. Finished photos get a green frame.

## The retro date stamp of old film cameras

1. Choose your photos.
2. Pick the “Retro” style – orange digits with a soft glow.
3. For the most authentic look, choose the '98 7 14 format and the bottom-right corner.
4. Set the size: small, like on a real print.
5. Save the photos.

## FAQ

### Where does the date come from?

From the photo's EXIF data (DateTimeOriginal), which cameras and phones save when you take the picture. If a photo has none – screenshots, photos from messengers – the file's date is used, and you can change it for every photo.

### Are my photos uploaded?

No. DateStamp runs entirely in your browser. You can even turn off the internet once the page has loaded.

### Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in Safari, Chrome and any modern browser. On a phone you can share the result straight to your gallery or a messenger.

### How many photos at once?

As many as you like. Big albums are processed one by one, and the bar shows how many are done.
